Antognolla Golf - Golf course information & golf holiday offers
Be prepared to have your breath taken away: the panorama of the Umbrian countryside, the backdrop of the hills and the might of the castle which gives its name to the golf course, are the strengths of this 18-hole course arising from the drafting pencil of Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1997. The rather long and undulating layout unwinds in a valley bordered by woods and cypresses – the 18 holes on foot are for the most athletic, others may prefer to book a golf cart – peppered with bunkers with high edges that make getting out difficult. The course is completed by speedy greens that are impeccably maintained with slopes sometimes hard to read. If you are unfamiliar with the course, each hole must be studied, taking into consideration the slopes, the water hazards, the positions of the flags: in other words, it’s easier to get a good score if you’ve played it more than once. But the score is of relative importance when facing a landscape this beautiful, nestled in greenery and surrounded by tranquility. The course has been subject to a multi-million euro investment in 2018. All bunkers have been renovated with new irrigation and drainage systems also installed. The position, 20 minutes north of Perugia, allows you to easily find a great number of architectural, artistic and enogastronomical attractions, once the match is over.
