A hotel that must strive to live up to its ambitions

A modern hotel that claims to be upmarket, but the finish and maintenance are not up to scratch. For example, water from the showers spills into the bathroom because the floor is poorly designed. There's mold on the tile joints and the hairdryer won't hold on to the wall. Games room with backgammon and billiards, but no dice for the former and some balls missing from the latter. The pool area is pleasant. The breakfast buffet is copious and varied. The restaurant is very average. The cleanliness of some waiters' suits was borderline. Pleasant staff.

Not to be repeated

This is definitely not a five star resort. 3 to 3.5 star maximum. The rooms are very basic, there is only one restaurant and one has to book in advance, the staff are not terribly helpful and many are simply not even basically trained. The phone didn’t work, the chairs on the terrace were basic and uncomfortable and I could continue. I had a broken ankle and when I asked for a golf cart so that at least I could go around the resort, they wanted to charge me euro 60 per day. The Verdura Resort offered this without my even having asked. Although I couldn’t play, I could see that the golf course was a bit rough and definitely not the caliber of the Verdura golf. I would not go back here and I think the star status needs to be downgraded until they upgrade basically everything.
